Import Airfreight Controller

Description:
We are seeking an experienced Imports Controller to join a dynamic airfreight team in Cape Town. This role reports directly to the Branch Manager and requires strong industry knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage the end to end import process.

Key Responsibilities:
Handle customer service functions, including preparing accurate estimates and quotations.
Liaise with clients and agents to confirm cargo readiness, pickup dates, and flight details.
Manage documentation: HAWB, MAWB, invoices, indemnities, and customs release.
Track shipments, update clients daily, and ensure files are closed within required timelines.
Approve agent invoices and ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures.
Escalate unresolved queries within 48 hours and manage damaged cargo per SLA.
Participate in quarterly performance discussions and uphold HR compliance standards.

Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric.
Certificate or Diploma in Supply Chain Management (NQF 5).
At least 5 years airfreight industry experience.
Solid knowledge of Incoterms, airfreight principles, and shipping practices.
Strong geographical knowledge.
