Export Sea Freight Controller

Our client in Gauteng is looking for an Export seafreight Controller To manage and coordinate all seafreight export shipments, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with international trade regulations, and excellent client service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the full seafreight export process from booking through to final delivery
Liaise with clients, shipping lines, agents, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
Prepare and verify export documentation (Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, Customs declarations, etc.)
Ensure compliance with customs, SARS, and international trade regulations
Track shipments and provide clients with accurate status updates
Negotiate rates with shipping lines and manage cost control
Resolve operational issues, delays, or documentation discrepancies quickly
Maintain accurate invoicing and financial records
Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in seafreight exports/logistics
Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs clearance, and international trade procedures
Proficiency in logistics systems (CargoWise or similar) and MS Office
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, highvolume environment
Strong attention to detail and problemsolving mindset
