Tester

General Purpose / Description:
What Software Quality Assurance Engineers and Testers Do. Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures. Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers. Identify, analyse, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.

Objective:
Testing and assessing software to ensure the specifications are met and that the product work as intended.

Duties and responsibilities
• Analyse system needs, use cases, and requirements for validity and feasibility.
• Collaborate closely with team members and departments to ensure smooth communication and coordination.
• Participate actively in daily meetings with other departments to understand project needs and updates.
• Execute all levels of testing, including System, Integration, and Regression testing.
• Perform both Functional and Non-functional testing as required.
• Analyse test results, identify errors, bugs, and usability issues, and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Track and manage software defects and inconsistencies, providing recommendations for repairs.
• Provide QA support and maintain relevant documentation.
• Stay up to date with software programming and software test design advancements.

Requirements and qualifications
• Understanding of computer programming and software development.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.

• Knowledge of various programming languages (e.g. HTML5, Jaca Script, CSS) advantageous

Qualifications:
• Software testing qualification (Optional)
