We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accountant to join a professional team based in Faerie Glen, Pretoria. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting functions, financial reconciliations, preparation of financial records and submissions to the South African Revenue Service (SARS).

This opportunity is suited to a candidate with an accounting background who is eager to apply their financial knowledge, maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant tax and accounting requirements. The ideal candidate must be fluent in Afrikaans, have good communication skills and demonstrate strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform cash book reconciliations and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
Prepare and process journals for trial balance purposes.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and supporting documentation.
Handle correspondence and queries with SARS.
Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns, withholding tax (WHT) documentation and other applicable tax returns.
Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure supporting documents are properly filed.
Review financial information for discrepancies and assist with resolving accounting queries.
Ensure that accounting tasks are completed accurately and within the required deadlines.
Provide general accounting and administrative support as required.
Qualification: BCom in Accounting or a related field, or currently studying towards a relevant qualification.
A background in accounting, bookkeeping or a similar financial role.
