Job Description:

DIESEL MECHANIC VACANCY
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanic in Vrede to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance, repairs, fault finding, and servicing of various agricultural, earthmoving, and fleet equipment.

Minimum Requirements
• Qualified Artisan Trade Certificate (MQA/QCTO Accredited Trade Qualification Section 13 / Section 26D)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills
• Willingness to work overtime when required

Knowledge and Experience on the Following Equipment Will Be Advantageous
• John Deere Tractors
• John Deere Forage Harvesters
• Big Pack Balers
• Earthmoving Equipment
• Mercedes and UD Trucks
• Toyota Bakkies / Pick-up Vehicles
• Lathe Machine Knowledge

Key Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered equipment and vehicles
• Attend to breakdowns and emergency repairs
• Carry out daily maintenance and routine services
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance
• Ensure all work is completed according to safety standards
• Keep accurate maintenance and service records
• Minimise downtime through effective troubleshooting and repairs
