Job Description:

Machine Operator Job requirements
• Minimum Matric results: Math Literacy-50% / English 2nd Language-50%
• Equivalent N levels in Mechanical and Electrical Subjects
• Must reside within 30km of Samrand
• Must have access to own transport in the form of Bus, Taxi, Lift club, Own vehicle
• No criminal Record
• Work experience: Minimum of 3 years as a machine operator in Toilet paper converting.
• Applicable industries minimum 5 years:
Packaging
Printing
Pulp and Paper
Textile
Food and Beverage
Pharmaceutical and Medical
Plastic Film Converting
Automotive Component Manufacturing
Metal Converting
Mechanical Spares Service and Installation
Theoretical Knowledge:
• Understanding of Mechanical/ Pneumatic/ Electrical systems including but not limited to: Air cylinder assemblies, Solenoid valves, Belts, Gears, Pulleys, Chains, Electric motors, AC/DC circuitry
Technical Skills:
• Proficient in operating, setting up, and troubleshooting converting machines (e.g., slitting, rewinding, embossing, and cutting equipment).
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret machine manuals, drawings, and technical instructions.
Operational Skills:
• Familiarity with automated production lines and HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.
• Ability to perform product changeovers efficiently.

Problem-Solving Skills:
• Ability to identify and resolve machine faults and production inefficiencies.
• Basic diagnostic and repair skills.
Safety Awareness:
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulations (e.g., lockout/tagout procedures).
• Awareness of hygiene standards for paper products
Overview of Responsibilities:
• Machine setup, calibration, and operation.
• Quality control and adherence to production standards.
• Troubleshooting and basic mechanical repairs.
• Knowledge of safety and hygiene standards.
• Teamwork and communication for smooth production flow.

Demographics:
• Ages 25 – 40
• Reside in: Olievenhoutbosch/ Tembisa or 30km radius from Samrand
• English Proficient
