Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Draughtsman with a strong understanding of timber construction and shopfitting, who can take design concepts and turn them into accurate, production-ready drawings.
This role sits at the intersection of design and manufacturing. You will work closely with designers, project managers, and the workshop team to ensure that every drawing can be built efficiently, correctly, and to a high standard — the first time.
This is not a purely conceptual or architectural drafting role. Practical manufacturing knowledge is essential.

Qualifications & Background
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a furniture manufacturing, shopfitting, or related environment
• Hands-on exposure to bespoke timber manufacturing processes
• Experience with CNC workflows and production drawings is an advantage

Required Skills & Experience
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks or similar)
• Proven experience with timber furniture or shopfitting projects
• Solid understanding of joinery methods, timber materials, and construction techniques
• Ability to think practically and anticipate manufacturing and installation challenges
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with workshop and site teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Personal Attributes
• Practical, solution-oriented mindset
• Passion for craftsmanship and quality workmanship
• Collaborative team player
• Adaptable and able to perform under production-driven timelines

Key Responsibilities
• Produce detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for bespoke timber furniture and shopfitting projects
• Convert design concepts and client briefs into clear, buildable workshop drawings
• Work closely with carpenters, installers, and project managers to confirm feasibility and resolve design challenges
• Prepare cutting lists, material schedules, and assembly details for production
• Revise drawings based on workshop feedback and site requirements
• Maintain drawing standards, templates, and libraries
• Ensure drawings comply with material specifications, safety, and ergonomic standards
• Liaise with suppliers regarding fittings, hardware, and materials
• Provide technical support to installation teams when required

Performance is Measured By
• Accuracy and clarity of drawings issued to production
• Reduction in workshop errors and rework
• On-time delivery of drawings aligned to project schedules
• Positive feedback from production and installation teams

Applicants must have practical experience in timber-based manufacturing or shopfitting environments. Candidates with only architectural or conceptual drafting experience will not be considered.
