Job Description:

Drava Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Semi-Skilled Turner to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating manual and/or CNC lathes to produce precision parts according to technical specifications. This role is ideal for someone with foundational machining experience looking to grow their skills in a high-precision engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
-Machine Operation: Set up and operate lathes to perform various machining operations (turning, facing, threading, and boring).
-Technical Reading: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job cards to determine dimensions and tolerances.
-Quality Control: Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier callipers, gauges) to ensure all components meet specified standards.
-Maintenance: Perform basic routine maintenance on machines and ensure the workspace is kept clean and safe.
-Material Handling: Select appropriate tools and materials for each job and monitor the machining process to prevent defects.
-Collaboration: Work closely with the workshop foreman and senior artisans to ensure production targets are met efficiently.

Requirements & Qualifications
-Education: Grade 12 or N2/N3 in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
-Experience: 1–3 years of experience as a Turner or Machinist in a workshop environment.
-Technical Skills: - Proficiency in operating manual lathes (CNC experience is a plus).
-Strong understanding of measuring tools and tolerances.
-Basic knowledge of different metal properties and cutting speeds.
-Attributes: High level of accuracy, strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety protocols.
