PRINT DEPARTMENT MANAGER Location: Kew, Johannesburg Salary: Market Related Job Summary: To oversee print operations. The ideal candidate will be an innovative problem solver with strong technical abilities and leadership skills, capable of managing staff, streamlining processes, and driving efficiencies. Key Responsibilities: Print Department Management: • Manage the daily operations of the print department, focusing on fabric and PVC printing (or similar print technologies). • Supervise print operators and ensure output quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery. • Oversee print job scheduling, file preparation, and machine operation. • Minimize material wastage and optimize resource usage. • Coordinate machine maintenance schedules and resolve print equipment issues promptly. • Continuously assess and improve production processes for better speed, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Quality Assurance: • Ensure products meet company quality standards and client requirements. • Conduct regular checks and inspections to maintain high-quality output. • Identify and address any defects or inconsistencies promptly. Safety and Compliance: • Enforce all health and safety regulations on the printing floor. • Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and equipment. • Report any accidents, incidents, or near-misses and implement corrective measures. Reporting and Documentation: • Maintain accurate records of print output and shift performance. • Provide detailed reports to the Directors on daily activities, challenges, and achievements. • Monitor stock levels for print supplies. Continuous Improvement: • Collaborate with management to implement best practices and innovation in processes. • Train staff on new print techniques and protocols as needed.
