Job Description:

Payroll and HR Officer Job Specification:
Geo Group is seeking a highly qualified Payroll & HR Officer which will be responsible for managing both the payroll and human resources functions within an organization. This role involves a combination of administrative and compliance tasks related to employee compensation, benefits, and other HR processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

•Work experience in Payroll and HR and administration thereof
•Knowledge of labour legislation
•Knowledge of tax legislation
•Experience using excel spreadsheets
•Organizational skills
•Good verbal and written communication skills
•Qualification in Payroll or relevant field Experience & Skills:
•Minimum 5 years’ experience working with Sage Business Cloud Payroll Professionals as well as Employee Self Service
•Digital literate with expertise in using MS Office applications.
•Thorough knowledge of payroll process, legislation and tax
•Thorough knowledge of labor relations and laws.
•Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects.
•Excellent communication skills for in-person, email, and telephone calls.
•Excellent skills in written English to create reports and meet tight deadlines.

Payroll Administration and Processing:

•Accurate timesheet capturing and loading onto VIP Sage Business Cloud system
•Loading new employees, maintaining and updating current employee details on the system
•Ensure the correct calculation of wages, salaries, overtime, deductions, bonuses, and commissions.
•Administer and update employee pay rates, deductions, and other payroll-related information.
•Capturing leave manually on to the VIP Sage Business Cloud system as well as on the Employee Self Service system.
•Administrate online leave system (ESS)
•Employee Inquiries: Address and resolve employee queries related to pay, deductions, or other payroll-related matters.
•Resolve discrepancies and ensure that employees are paid correctly and on time.
•Provide guidance on pay-related matters, including bonuses, benefits, or overtime calculations.
•Ensure payroll processing complies with all tax laws, labor regulations, and company policies.
•Calculate, process, maintain and reconcile statutory deductions such as income tax, provident fund contributions, and other relevant contributions.
•Generate, submit, file and maintain monthly payroll reports for management, finance, and auditing purposes.
•Provide periodic payroll summaries, including tax filings, deductions, and other essential metrics.
•Distribution of payslips
•Submission of UIF monthly declarations
•Submission of provident fund schedules
•Submission of OID reports
•Maintain accurate and confidential records of all payroll transactions and the filing thereof.
•Ensure data entry into payroll software systems is accurate and up-to-date.
•Complete and create the reconciliation of tax for tax year end purposes
•Distribute employee EMP201
•Complete UIF documentation, Provident Fund documentation and employee certificates of service for terminated employees.
HR Functions:
•Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist in recruitment efforts, including posting job ads, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and ensuring smooth onboarding for new employees.
•Assist with obtaining work permits for various countries and the administration thereof.
•Employee Files: Maintain accurate employee records (e.g., personal details, performance evaluations, training records, and disciplinary actions).
•General HR Administration
