Job Description: Preparation Worker
Core Responsibilities
Clean, sand, grind, or blast surfaces to remove rust, dirt, grease, or old coatings.

Mask and tape areas not to be coated.

Apply primers, fillers, or sealants to ensure proper adhesion of paint or coatings.

Inspect surfaces for defects and repair imperfections before finishing.

Operate preparation tools such as sanders, grinders, and blasting equipment.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of surface preparation techniques (sanding, blasting, priming).

Ability to use hand tools and power equipment safely.

Attention to detail for smooth, defect-free surfaces.

Understanding of safety standards and protective gear requirements.

Physical stamina and manual dexterity.

Educational Requirements
Minimum: Grade 9–12.

On-the-job training or apprenticeship in automotive, industrial, or construction environments.

Certification in occupational health and safety is advantageous.

Experience
1–3 years in a workshop, paint shop, or industrial setting.

Experience with sanding, masking, or blasting preferred.

Familiarity with automotive or industrial finishing processes is beneficial.

Work Environment
Workshops, spray booths, or industrial plants.

Exposure to dust, fumes, and noise — requires protective clothing and equipment.

May involve standing for long periods and repetitive tasks.
