Trailer Builder

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Trailer Builder to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will fabricate, assemble, and repair heavy-duty commercial trailers, tankers, and chassis. The ideal candidate has strong structural welding skills, can read detailed engineering drawings, and is experienced in installing mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical trailer components.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication: Cut, shape, and weld steel or aluminum components.
Assembly: Build trailer frames, decks, and side panels from scratch.
Welding: Perform high-quality MIG, TIG, and CO2 structural welding.
Mechanics: Install axles, suspension systems, kingpins, and landing gear.
Pneumatics: Route air lines and fit EBS/ABS braking systems.
Electrics: Wire heavy-duty LED lighting circuits and main harnesses.
Quality Check: Measure and inspect builds for strict dimensional accuracy.
Repairs: Diagnose faults and repair damaged commercial trailers.

Requirements & Qualifications
Education: National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent.
Trade Test: Qualified Boilermaker, Welder, or Diesel Mechanic preferred.
Experience: 2–5 years in trailer manufacturing or heavy-vehicle repair.
Technical Skills: Expert blueprint reading and power tool proficiency.
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy loads and work on your feet.
Driver's License: Valid Code 14 (EC) license is highly advantageous.
